Our staff consists of professionals of great skill and experience in dealing with all aspects of the medical care system and the administration of health benefits. In addition to their rich experience, our team members are selected because of their excellent communications skills.
Personal Health Advocates
Our Personal Health Advocates, typically registered nurses, provide both clinical and administrative services. Our registered nurses have five or more years of clinical experience before coming to Health Advocate although almost all of them exceed this minimum requirement. Most have worked in care management positions for physicians, in hospital settings in supervisory positions and/or at health plans as case managers. We seek people with the ability to take a holistic view of a case and guide a member through what can be a very complicated and stressful situation.
Social services and behavioral health staff complement the work of our nurses and intervene on many difficult issues. They are especially helpful when we are facing complex problems involving seniors and children with developmental, learning, behavioral and handicapping conditions.
Medical Directors
A team of similarly experienced Medical Directors supports our nursing staff. These physicians have had ten or more years of clinical practice experience before coming to Health Advocate. Medical directors supervise each clinical case and, when appropriate, are available to speak with treating and referral physicians.
Claims and Health Benefits Specialists
Benefits specialists round out our service center team. They have several years of experience working in the healthcare industry before being hired by Health Advocate.
Management and supervisory staff, administrative assistants and infrastructure technology professionals support the entire team in our service center. Our quality assessment and training staff are intimately involved in training, monitoring, retraining and professional development activities.
